Problem/Question:

A Fatal Exception or Fatal Alert error occurs on the CLIE.

Solution/Answer:

A Fatal Exception or Fatal Alert could be caused by a particular application that is not operating correctly or installed properly. It may be necessary to reinstall the software.

If the error occurs when attempting a HotSync operation, then the data being transferred may have caused the issue. If a Fatal Exception or Fatal Alert error occurs on the CLIE, perform a soft reset.

If the error still occurs, a hard reset may be required. Note: A hard reset will delete all added programs, updates and records stored on the CLIE, resulting in a risk of data loss.
