Bluetooth is a personal network and communication technology. Rather than physical cables, it uses radio signals to
connect devices together. Bluetooth operates in the globally available ISM band
at 2.4 GHz and is usable worldwide.
It is based on a low-cost,
short-range radio transceiver and has an operating range of up to ten meters.
Unlike infra-red technology, the connected devices do not need to be within line
of sight.
Presently, the Bluetooth chip can be found in electronic
devices, such as digital cameras, printers, PDAs and computers. With Bluetooth,
you can now send images for printing right from your camera to a printer next
door without leaving your current location.
